Healthy Savannah presented its 2021 Health Innovation Award to the Savannah H.O.P.E. Photovoice Project which identifies social, cultural and physical barriers that discourage breastfeeding while also identifying opportunities to remove them.
Through a nomination and peer review process, faculty are selected for this honor based on their demonstrated commitment to service at the local and national level.
This honor, given out by the Georgia Southern University Alumni Association, recognizes young alumni that are leading the way in business, leadership, community, educational and/or philanthropic endeavors.
Black Mothers’ Breastfeeding Association’s Birth & Breastfeeding Leadership Institute is a virtual national leadership development program designed to advance community-level leadership for racial justice and equity in maternal-child-health.
This program allows participants to attend three-day symposia held six times over the academic year while also engaging in instructional improvement projects on their home campuses. The symposia includes a combination of structured instructional and faculty development activities as well as self-directed activities designed to meet individual needs.
The annual Health Equity Leadership Institute (HELI) is a weeklong research and leadership immersion program focused on increasing the number of investigators, particularly underrepresented racial/ethnic (UR) investigators, engaged in health disparities research to achieve health equity.
